Summer Solstice Qigong + Sound Bath
June 20 at 12:30pm | The Space Between; Chicago
Qigong is a Chinese healing art that integrates breath, gentle movement, visualization, and focused intention to cultivate and circulate Qi (life force energy). This practice helps revitalize the body, calm the mind, and support overall well-being. In this style of qigong, you’ll experience continuous flowing movements, tapping to awaken Qi along the meridian pathways, and guided meditative imagery that mirrors the rhythms of nature.
In celebration of the Summer Solstice - the peak of light and yang energy - Lisa has created a special Summer Qigong practice to cultivate joy, vitality, and expansion. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, Summer is associated with the Fire element, which governs the heart and small intestine and is linked to love, connection, and joy. This is an auspicious time to embrace movement and play, to fully express our yang Qi, and to support transformation, growth, and openness.
The workshop will conclude with a deeply restorative 10-minute sound bath. Participants can relax and receive as Lisa fills the space with the soothing vibrations of crystal singing bowls, chimes, Native American flute, other resonant instruments.
Lisa teaches in the Qigong lineage of Mantak Chia, Robert Peng, and Marisa Cranfill.
